According to their website, the Boys’ first gig was at an open house for a farm machinery dealership, but don’t be fooled by that humble beginning. The band has played some prestigious venues, including multiple daily shows at the 2004, '05, '06, '07 and '08 historic NY State Fair; shows in 2003, '04 and '06 at the North American Fiddlers' Hall of Fame, and regular performances at fairs and community concerts, including Oswego, NY Harborfest and the internationally recognized Norwood, NY Village Green Concert Series.
The band also appeared at the 2005, ’06, and ’07 Country Music Association’s Fan Fair in Nashville, TN. They were one of only 23 bands selected nationally by audition to perform at the CMA's Acoustic Stage and also at the Gibson Showcase Theater at the Grand Old Opry.
Ray Gardner, on bass, is from the Brasher-Winthrop, NY area. Ray has played swingin’ acoustic bass since his high school days, and is among the very best in the business.
Fiddler Floyd Sherman grew up near the Grasse River on the family farm in Madrid, NY. His composition, The Grasse River Waltz, was the title tune of the band’s first compact disc. He has played fiddle and guitar in many popular country bands over the years, most notably, the Ranchmen.
John Wolfe, the band’s leader, guitarist, and principal vocalist is retired from 33 years in public education. He doubles on tenor banjo, trumpet, and an assortment of chromatic harmonicas. John writes many of the band's songs, including the recent hit "Big Bowl of Chili."

Mock battles, drills, camp life
During the weekend, mock battles staged by Union and Confederate reenactors will fill the park with the sights and sounds of the Civil War. Reenactors will perform military drills, talk about camp life, and demonstrate such skills as coffin-making, cooking, cannon firing, and medical practices. There will be a fashion show of Civil War-era clothing, a basket auction and displays of artifacts. There will be a lucet cord-making demonstration (lucet is a method of cord-making or braiding which is believed to date back to the Viking and Medieval period).
Infantry, artillery, and civilian reenactors from New York, Vermont, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Ontario and Quebec, Canada, are expected to attend, as are sutlers (vendors of period goods and clothing).
