Local musicians will add to the festivities at the St. Lawrence County Historical Associations annual holiday open house from 4 to 8 pm Friday, December 7 at the Silas Wright House, 3 E Main Street, Canton.
At 4 pm the Select Chorus of Hugh C. Williams High School in Canton will perform; North Winds will play at 5 pm; the Note Worthy Bell Choir is scheduled for 6 pm; Jill and Tim Savage round out the entertainment at 7 pm.
Families, friends, and newcomers are invited to enjoy bountiful holiday refreshments, listen to seasonal music, and tour the mid-19th century period rooms of the Wright House. The house will be decked out for a Victorian-style gala, with festive greens and soft lights, and decorations contributed and arranged by members of the Canton Garden Club. In the second-floor Childrens Attic there will be coloring sheets for children.
Admission is free; parking is available in back, next to the Red Barn main entrance.

'adirondack santa' returns for kids' program

Santa returns to the Silas Wright House, 3 E Main Street, Canton, from
11 am to noon, Saturday, December 8, to visit with children ages 4-10.
The jolly old elf's visit is part of a Second Saturday program sponsored by the St Lawrence County Historical Association.
Canton Mayor-elect Charlotte Ramsay will read a seasonal story aloud, and children will have an opportunity to make a gingerbread-style house.

holiday tea showcases silas wright house
Visitors to the Silas Wright House, 3 E Main Street, Canton, on Sunday, December 9, will have an opportunity to stroll through the mid-19th century period rooms and enjoy the decorations during a holiday tea from 1 to 4 pm. Several kinds of tea and other refreshments will be served. All are welcome to attend.
