Antique dealers and the public invited -
Historical Association Show And Sale In April
The St Lawrence County Historical Association will host its 12th Annual Antique and Artisan Show and Sale to on Saturday, April 26th, 2003 from 10 am to 4 pm at the McKenney Middle School in Canton, New York. Admission donation to the Antique and Artisan Show is $3 and benefits the St Lawrence County Historical Association.
Show features:
- Antique Dealers (14+) specializing in furniture, glass, primitives, china, jewelry, kitchenware and local ephemera
- Raffle of "Patches of Snow", a multicolored, handmade scrap quilt. Tickets are $1, or 6 for $5.
- Silent Auction of antiques and collectibles including an antique coverlet
- Artisan demonstrations. In past years, we've had glass blowing, spinning, weaving, hooked rug making, basket making, wood carving, decoy carving, painting and pottery.
- Basket weaving classes - Jennifer Blanchard of Willow Tree Florist in Potsdam will teach classes both morning and afternoon. The morning session will feature a wastepaper basket and costs $20. The afternoon session will result in a berry basket and costs $15. Both sessions are scheduled to last 2 1/2 hours.
- Antique appraisals throughout the day
Antique Show co-chairs Carl Stickney and Jane Subramanian say the show will include antique dealers, artisans, a silent auction,a quilt raffle, SLCHA gift shop merchandise, and a great luncheon. There are still booths available for antique dealers looking to sell their wares and gain exposure to the public at this popular annual event.
