The Band Jacket worn by Silas Riggs, clarinet player in the Stockholm Cornet Band, is currently on display as part of the Town of Stockholm exhibit at the SLCHA. The band reorganized into a "New Band" with some new members around 1900. The new uniforms included bright red coats.

Carlton Smith established a foundry and machine shop in West Stockholm in 1846 to manufacture agricultural implements. Among these implements was the Hercules Rock and Stump Lifter which was invented and patented by Silas Smith (brother of Carlton) in 1870. By 1878, the West Stockholm Foundry was operated by Bartlette & Smith, who also manufactured plows, horse-powers and butter churns.
