CANTON - Due to a wonderfully refreshing summer shower the St Lawrence County Historical Association's historic walking tour of the Village of Canton has been rescheduled for Wednesday, August 4th at 6 pm. There are still spaces available, so now is your chance to register for the tour. This informative and fascinating tour will be led by Canton Town & Village Historian Linda Casserly. Casserly will talk, among other things, about the Miner House, the American House, and the Opera House; changes to Main Street over the years; and sites where notable Canton residents worked and lived. The tour on Wednesday, August 4th begins at 6 pm and will last until approximately 7:30 pm. Participants should assemble on the back porch of the St Lawrence County Historical Association at the Silas Wright House (the main entrance by the parking lot) at 5:45 pm. The cost is $5 per person, ages 12 and up (under 12 free) with a maximum of 20 people on a tour. Pre-registration is required. Your paid registration secures your space on the tour.
